PSV is woensdag vertrokken naar de Portugese hoofdstad Lissabon. Toni Lato en Ibrahim Afellay zijn niet meegereisd naar Portugal.
Woensdagavond staat er nog een training op de agenda. Dat Ibrahim Afellay wederom niet mee reist met de selectie mag opvallend worden genoemd. Van Bommel is vaak lyrisch over de routinier. “Ibi is een persoonlijkheid, die verbindt in de kleedkamer en op de club. Hij heeft twee jaar niet gespeeld, grote stappen gezet, maar op dit moment is het nog niet goed genoeg.”
Opvallend genoeg is zijn aanwezigheid in de kleedkamer dus niet belangrijk genoeg voor de cruciale uitwedstrijd in Portugal. Toni Lato lijkt aan zijn laatste weken in Eindhoven bezig te zijn. PSV moet eigenlijk winnen in het mooie stadion Estádio José Alvalade een resultaat te behalen om de volgende ronde van de Europa League in eigen hand te blijven houden.
